The DarkWorld IRC Staff Training Programme provides a structured, documented, and security-conscious pathway for preparing potential staff members to serve the DarkWorld IRC Network.
The programme develops technical knowledge, sound judgment, professional conduct, communication ability, documentation habits, security awareness, and respect for authority boundaries before a candidate receives operational responsibility.
DarkWorld Network is an umbrella under which multiple community and technical projects operate. This programme is specifically designed for the DarkWorld IRC Network and its staff operations.
Specialist training may later cover related operational areas, including IRC services, IRCd administration, bouncer systems, shell services, bots, relays, and other approved DarkWorld projects. Completion of the core IRC programme does not automatically authorize access to those systems.
The programme aims to ensure that a potential staff member can:
Applications may be accepted from registered DarkWorld IRC users who meet the published eligibility requirements and are willing to complete training, assessments, supervision, and conduct obligations.
Applicants should normally demonstrate:
Submitting an application, being accepted into training, passing an assessment, or completing a trainee period does not create a right to staff status, privileged access, a particular title, or appointment.
Candidates receive only the access required for an approved learning or operational purpose. Access may be read-only, supervised, time-limited, command-limited, or restricted to specific channels and systems.
Staff intervention should be proportionate to the incident, policy, risk, available evidence, and authority of the person acting. Warnings, guidance, referral, or temporary containment may be more appropriate than punitive action.
A candidate must demonstrate safe performance under supervision before being trusted with wider responsibility or independent action.
Passwords, tokens, private evidence, restricted channels, internal records, and administrative systems must be protected even when doing so requires additional time or escalation.
Significant actions and decisions should be supported by reliable information and documented through approved systems. Public accusations, incomplete logs, assumptions, and memory alone should not be treated as sufficient evidence for serious action.
Candidates are expected to report mistakes promptly, help restore the correct state, accept review, and complete remediation where needed. Concealing an error is more serious than honestly reporting and correcting it.
Every candidate is responsible for:
Assigns modules, explains requirements, reviews learning, provides feedback, records progress, and determines when remediation or advancement should be considered.
Conducts controlled written or practical assessments, applies the approved scoring standard, records critical concerns, and preserves assessment integrity.
Supervises approved trainee duties, observes conduct and judgment, reviews real or simulated cases, and helps the candidate improve safely.
Reviews probation, security, conduct, access, complaints, conflicts, performance history, and appointment requirements before making or approving significant decisions.
Maintains administrative accounts, roles, portal security, recovery, mailer configuration, audit access, and other protected system functions. Technical administration does not replace training or management approval.
Candidate status does not grant general staff authority. A candidate may act only within an approved role, stage, access plan, channel, system, command set, time period, and supervision level.
Access granted for training or testing must not be used for personal disputes, favors, curiosity, unrelated investigations, external projects, or actions outside DarkWorld authorization.
Emergency access, overrides, network-wide commands, account recovery, service administration, server configuration, confidential evidence, and destructive actions require explicit authority and may remain prohibited throughout training.
Advancement is based on the complete candidate record, not a single score. Review may include module completion, written knowledge, practical safety, ethical judgment, documentation, reliability, conduct, security, supervised work, feedback response, conflicts, complaints, and access concerns.
A high score does not override a serious security, integrity, confidentiality, authority, or conduct failure.
Where improvement is possible, a candidate may receive additional study, revised assignments, closer supervision, reassessment, reduced access, an extended stage, or reassignment to a more suitable path.
Candidacy may be paused or ended where there is insufficient progress, unreliability, serious misconduct, dishonesty, security risk, confidentiality failure, unauthorized access, unresolved conflict, or loss of management confidence.
DarkWorld may maintain application information, module progress, submissions, examination results, review records, acknowledgements, access plans, audit events, security records, and appointment decisions for programme administration, safety, accountability, and historical review.
Candidate information is restricted to authorized personnel according to assigned roles and operational need. Candidates must not publish private training records, examination material, or internal feedback without authorization.
